For a BBQ-style Thanksgiving feast, forget gravy & spoon this savory homemade BBQ sauce over Traeger smoked turkey.

1/2 onion, minced
4 Clovegarlic, minced
3/4 Fluid Ouncebourbon whiskey
1/2 Teaspoonblack pepper
1/2 Tablespoonsalt
2 Cupketchup
1/4 Cuptomato paste
1/3 CupCider Vinegar
1/4 CupWorcestershire sauce
1/2 Cupbrown sugar
1/3 TeaspoonHot Pepper Sauce

  • Step 1

    When ready to cook, set grill temperature to 350˚F and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.

  • Step 2

    In a large skillet combine the onion, garlic, and whiskey. Simmer for 20 minutes on the Traeger or until onion is translucent.

    Ingredients
    • 1/2  onion, minced

    • 4 Clove garlic, minced

    • 3/4 Fluid Ounce bourbon whiskey

  • Step 3

    Mix in the ground black pepper, salt, ketchup, tomato paste, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and hot pepper sauce.

    • 1/2 Teaspoon black pepper

    • 1/2 Tablespoon salt

    • 2 Cup ketchup

    • 1/4 Cup tomato paste

    • 1/3 Cup Cider Vinegar

    • 1/4 Cup Worcestershire sauce

    • 1/2 Cup brown sugar

    • 1/3 Teaspoon Hot Pepper Sauce

  • Step 4

    Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat on the Traeger to 225˚F and simmer for 20 more minutes.

  • Step 5

    Run sauce through a strainer if you prefer a smooth sauce. Use on your favorite BBQ recipes. Enjoy!
