Grilling these sweet potato slices brings out their natural sweetness, making for a delicious side or healthy snack. Forget plain old potatoes and dipping sauce, the caramel-like flavor of these sweet potatoes holds its own.

When ready to cook, set Traeger temperature to 500°F and preheat, lid closed for 15 minutes.

Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut lengthwise into eighths. Rub the sweet potato wedges with the canola oil, salt, pepper, and onion powder until well coated.

Place the sweet potatoes wedges directly on the grill grates (they will get a great sear if placed at the very front and very back of the grill).

After they have good grill marks, move them to the center and continue to cook for about 15 to 20 minutes. Serve.
