We have found many of our customers who use EERO routers/boosters have particularly difficult pairing experiences. Below are some workarounds that we have found useful.
A new Firmware for the EERO Routers began rollout on 07/26 (Version 6.4.0). The software updates are rolled out in phases, however, if your network hasn't automatically updated, you can choose to manually update your system by navigating to Settings > Software Updates > Update in the App.
If you have difficulties updating to version 6.4.0, please refer to this article on the ERRO support site for more assistance.
EERO routers come with a default feature turned on called Advanced Security. This feature blocks malicious sites, botnets, phishing, etc.
Find that feature in the EERO app and turn it off. From here, some customers have been able to get the grill to connect.
Once the grill is connected, you may turn Advanced Security back on, and it should not disconnect the grill.
Legacy Mode is a setting that disables WiFi 6 on the 2.4 network. To do this follow the steps below:
NOTE: Ensure the 5ghz network is still disabled.
After enabling Legacy Mode, attempt the pairing process again.
Use the steps outlined in this EERO Support article to share your EERO guest network.
If, after trying all the above workarounds, your grill still won't connect, contact EERO at 1-877-659-2347.
EERO routers/boosters are designed specifically for 5GHz devices. Because Traegers are designed for 2.4 GHz networks, the inability to connect is usually attributed to that.
