The higher the quality of your hot dog, the better this recipe will be, so choose wisely!

Steps

  • Step 1

When ready to cook, preheat your grill to 225°F, if available, use super smoke.

    225 ˚F / 107 ˚C

  • Step 2

Using a sharp knife, cut diagonal slits every half inch or so into the top of each hot dog. Then, turn 180 degrees and cut more slits to make a crosshatch or diamond pattern. Flip the dogs over and repeat on the opposite side. The slits will allow the dogs to expand and take on more smoke without splitting.

    Ingredients
    • 8 Whole jumbo beef hot dogs

  • Step 3

(Optional step for extra flavor) Drizzle your dogs in Traeger Que BBQ Sauce, tossing to coat. Sprinkle each with Perfect Pork or your favorite rub.

    Ingredients
  • Step 4

Place the dogs directly on the grill grates and smoke for 45 minutes, flipping after the first 20 minutes.
